| | | One of the first things I noticed in the Basics sections was how the Folded Corners were made. I have always cut away the bottom triangle. They suggest leaving the corner for better stabilization. I must try this! A dozen projects are provided in this book. They are created from both pieced and appliqués blocks. As with all quilt patterns, a materials and cutting list is provided first. There is a photo of the finished item and the size of the quilt and the individual block size is given. Construction of the blocks is shown with plenty of graphics to help understand the written instructions. Assembling the top is next and the quilting pattern is left up to you. House, pineapples, pomegranate, flowers and pumpkins are a few of the appliqués you will find to make. As the title indicates, they are folk-art designs. If you are looking for patterns that combine two techniques to make a quilt, wall hanging or pillow, this book will provide the patterns/projects.
